Install App Volumes Manager 2.15

In this post, I will show you the installation steps of the App Volumes Manager. The installation will be straight forward.

These installation steps can be used when installing your first App Volumes Manager but also when you install a second App Volumes Manager in your deployment. At the database connection step, I will explain more.

Before you start the installation create a SQL Server Database with SQL Server Authentication on your database server. Also create an ODBC connection on the App Volumes server. This information is needed during the installation.

Download the installation ISO from VMWARE and start the installation.

Click Next.

Accept the terms and click Next.

Choose Install App Volumes Manager and click Next.

The Manager installation wil now start. Click Next.

You may choose for an local SQL Server Express Database in a lab environment. I prefer to use a SQL Server database. This is also needed when you want to deploy a second App Volumes Manager later.

When you created the ODBC connection prior this installation you are able to select it. Also fill in the credentials of the SQL user.

Note: When you are installing a second App Volumes Manager be sure that you deselectOverwrite existing database. In this setup your two App Volumes Managers will both use the same database.

Leave the installation path default and click Next.

Click Install.

Click Finish to close the installation Wizard.

You are now done with Installing the App Volumes Manager. On your Desktop you will find a shortcut to the webinterface of the App Volumes Manager.
